Eight listeriosis cases in two states linked to Blue Bell recall

Posted under Product Liability

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently revealed that there have been eight cases of listeriosis in two states with a links to recalled Blue Bell ice cream, a Food Safety News report stated on April 9.

According to reports, the cases of listeriosis are linked to ice cream served at a single hospital in Kansas and in Texas between January 2014 and Janury 2015. The eight individuals reportedly ingested food that contained Blue Bell products supplied by the hospital while receiving treatment for unrelated problems. The company last March issued a recall to their products due to possible contamination of Listeriosis monocytogenes, and on April 7 Blue Bell decided to broaden their recall due to another uncovering of a Listeria contamination in their Oklahoma production facility.
