In February, Fitbit recalled the “Force” fitness wristband because it caused some consumers to experience allergic reactions.
The device is intended to monitor physical activity throughout the day. James Park, Fitbit’s CEO, cited chemicals used in manufacturing as the main cause for allergic reactions.
Fitbit analysis found out that 1.7 percent of the consumers reportedly suffered skin problems. The company said they will discontinue selling the “Force” models and consumers who have the device may ask for refund or a product replacement.
