A car was leaving a local country store, heading eastbound, when it hit an oncoming horse-drawn buggy carrying four Amish children.
The car accident took place as the children were on their way to school, which was located less than half a mile from the site of the accident. All four chilldren were ejected from the buggy when it collided with the oncoming car. Two of the children received serious injuries while the other two were said to be in critical condition and were taken by MedFlight to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.
A witness of the accident stated that due to hills located on the road where the accident occurred, vision can be strongly impaired. The driver of the motor vehicle was treated for minor injuries and released the same day.
Friends and family of the children are hoping for the best in their recovery and are thankful that they are currently in stable condition.
