Man Killed in Madison Auto Accident

A Pardeeville man was killed Monday in a Madison auto accident.

According to officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol, the
accident occurred shortly after 12:00 p.m. on State Highway 16 near Dunning
Road, approximately five miles southeast of the City of Portage. Investigators
say a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling west on Highway 16 and was turning
south onto Dunning Road when it was rear-ended by a Ford Explorer driven by 18
year-old Ashlee M. Scott, of Rio.

The driver of the pickup truck refused medical treatment at
the scene of the accident. He was later transported to Divine Savior Hospital
in Portage after complaining of a medical condition related to the crash. The
driver was then transferred to a hospital in Madison where he died of the

Scott was cited for inattentive driving. She was not injured
in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the Columbia
County Sheriff’s Office.
