One person was injured in an alleged drunken drivingaccident in Madison Monday.
According to officials with the Dane County Sheriff’s Department,deputies responded to a call of an accident at County Highway CC and LathersRoad shortly before 5:00 p.m. Monday. Deputies say 48 year-old Oregon-residentGregory A. Lewandowski was traveling east on Highway CC and collided with adriveway culvert after falling asleep behind the wheel. His vehicle wentairborne and struck a tree.
Lewandowski was injured in the accident and transported byambulance to an area hospital for treatment. No information on the nature orextent of his injuries was available. He is charged with felony OWI and cited forinattentive driving, as well as Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
