Seven children were injured in a Madison ATV accident Monday, authorities reported.
According to officials with the Dane County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred on a private road near the 3500 block of Timber Lane in the Town of Middleton, shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday. Police say a 15 year-old girl lost control of a utility vehicle she was driving, throwing all seven of the occupants off the vehicle. The driver hit a patch of gravel on the road, lost control, and overturned, according to the accident report.
The driver was the most seriously injured in the crash. She was transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The six passengers, who ranged in age from 10 to 16, all sustained minor injuries. Four were transported by ambulance to UW Hospital and two were treated by Emergency Medical Services at the scene.
