In 2008, 20 people were killed in boating accidents. Of those 20, 16 were not wearing life jackets. When boats go out, there needs to be a satisfactory number of life jackets on board.
Not only should a boat have enough life jackets, but they must fit the wearers properly. Unfortunately, too many children drown from using life jackets that are too big for them. Preparation is key to avoiding boating related deaths.
