Sometimes, ‘natural’ causes can lead to the most severe consequences. That appears to be the case with a recent Madison car accident when a man was hit by a car while in his wheelchair. The man was attempting to cross the road, and the driver of the vehicle stated that he was blinded by the sun, according to The Times Plus.
“James C. Holz, 44, was taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison by helicopter. His injuries were described by Green County Chief Deputy Jeff Skatrud as “severe.”
Initial investigation showed Holz was on the south side of Washington Road when his wheelchair was hit by an eastbound vehicle driven by Matthew P. Keller, 20, Monticello.
Keller told deputies he was blinded by the sun and didn’t see Holz or the wheelchair.
Keller’s vehicle received minor damage from the Madison auto accident.”
