In Wisconsin, there is a general 3 year statute of limitation. This means a person has 3 years to file a lawsuit within three years of the injury. Many lawyers try to settle outside of court before filing a lawsuit. If this does not look like it is going to happen and the three year mark is approaching, it is a good idea to file a lawsuit.
