What is medical malpractice?
Medical malpractice is negligence on the part of a healthcare provider. Something going wrong does not count as malpractice. In order for a health care provider to have committed medical malpractice, it must be proven that the healthcare provider did not follow the accepted standards of medical care. Because medicine is never exact and there are always risks involved, it is the responsibility of the healthcare provider to ensure that all risks are minimized and negative effects of treatment are dealt with quickly and effectively.
