A Madison woman was injured in a Jefferson County hit-and-run crash Thursday night.

According to officials with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department, the crash occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. Thursday on Interstate 94, just east of Switzke Road, in the township of Farmington. Police say a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling west on I-94 in the left lane, nearest the median, when a second vehicle passed the toyota and then moved into the left lane, striking the Toyota in the front fender. The impact caused the Toyota to spin out, enter the median, and roll multiple times, finally coming to rest on its side on the eastbound shoulder of Interstate 94.

The driver of the Toyota, a 30 year-old woman from Madison, was transported by Med Flight to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for treatment. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. Police say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
