Death total in highway accidents down this year

by Administrator 2. November 2009 06:35

According to government data, fewer deaths have occurred in Wisconsin highway accidents this year. The data indicates that 441 people have died in such accidents, a 11 percent from the same time last year.

If this trend continues, then the state could have the fewest number of deaths in one year compared to data from the past few decades. Many experts believe that the decrease in highway fatalities is due in part to the weak economy. Because people are likely driving less to save on driving costs, the fewer number of cars on the road has led to fewer accidents.
