Boy Hit Exiting School Bus

by Administrator 5. March 2008 04:03
A 5-year-old boy was hit by a car Friday after exiting a school bus. The car's driver has been charged and the boy is expected to survive. The driver couldn't stop in time when the bus stopped and so swerved to avoid hitting the bus. Unfortunately, the passenger side of her car and its mirror hit the 5-year-old. The little boy experienced a fractured skull and other cuts and bruises. He was flown to a nearby hospital. The driver was charged with not stopping for a school bus, driving with a revoked license, driving with no insurance, not having her license plate properly attached, having an inspection violation, driving with unsafe tires, driving with defective brakes, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident and having drug paraphernalia in the car.  She was taken into custody at the scene but later posted $2,500 bond.
