Lawsuit Expected in Wisconsin Dells Ride Malfunction

by Administrator 25. August 2010 06:32
A civil case could soon be brought against he owners of a Wisconsin Dells ride that injured a Florida girl earlier this summer.

According to officials with the Lake Delton Police Department, 12 year-old Teagan Marti fell 100 feet to the ground on the Terminal Velocity ride, after the operator released her before a safety net was in place. Attorney Suart Grossman said he plans to file a civil lawsuit against the Extreme World park, the ride's operator and manufacturer.

Marti remains in critical condition at a Madison hospital. She is unable to breathe on her own and may be partially paralyzed.

The ride's operator, 33 year-old Charles Carnell, was charged this week.

Grossman describes the police report as "very telling." Lake Delton police reportedly found workers making repairs to the ride in the middle of the night after the incident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim and her family.
