Nissan secalls 34,000 vehicles due to shift defect

Posted under automotive defects

Nissan is being added to the long list of automotive companies that have been forced to issue recalls in the past year. The automaker is recalling over 34,000 of its Rogue 2015 vehicles due to a shift defect which could cause the vehicle to shift out of the park position, even when the driver does not have their foot on the brake as is usually required.

The recall includes vehicles manufactured between February 2015 and May 2015, but is said to only affect about half of the vehicle models sold in that time period. Nissan will soon start notifying owners of the affected vehicles so that they are able to make arrangements with local dealers regarding investigations and repairs to be conducted at no charge to the consumer. While the campaign is set to begin later this month, owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration if they have any questions.
