A school bus operator reportedly went on leave after being involved in a fatal accident near Pulaski, Fox 11 reported on September 5.

A statement coming from a spokesperson of Pulaski School District said that the 74-year-old bus operator will not return to work until further notice following the accident. The collision reportedly happened on Highway 29 when a bus transporting a volleyball team apparently failed to yield and was then struck by a vehicle September 2. A passenger of the car, identified as Shannon Hall, died in the crash, while the driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital for his injuries. At least 14 school bus passengers were also injured in the crash.
