Product recall affects 21,000 water slides

Posted under Madison defective products attorneys

A product recall that was recently announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission will affect 21,000 inflatable Banzai water slides that are typically utilized with in-ground pools.

After extensive research into injury claims, these slides are now considered defective. Two of their main flaws include instant deflation and the ability to topple in windy situations. The investigation of this specific product came after many injuries and even a death were reported.

A woman lost her life due to this defective pool toy after it deflated, causing her to break her neck. She succumbed to her injuries one day after the pool accident. Her family sued Toys R Us, Inc., one of the product’s distributors and was awarded $20.6 million.
