A 22-year-old Wisconsin woman has been severely injured after she was struck by a car while walking in Milwaukee. The motor vehicle that hit her ended up fleeing the scene of the accident.

The hit-and-run accident took place near Farwell Avenue after midnight last Thursday. According to witnesses, the 22-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling at accelerated speeds near Farwell Avenue when he suddenly swerved his vehicle. Witnesses say that they saw a young woman become airborne near the vehicle.

The pedestrian suffered a broken leg, internal injuries, and a shattered pelvis. The motor vehicle driver sped off, but police were able to locate him based on the description of his vehicle. He admitted to police that he left because he was nervous.
