Schools closed Friday due to severe snowstorm

Posted under Madison motor vehicle accidents attorneys

Twelve different schools in Madison, Wisconsin closed on Friday due to the extreme snowstorm that was beginning in the area. The snowstorm spanned across the state, and blanketed the ground with five to eight inches of snow, depending on the area.

The National Weather Service announced that a winter storm warning was in effect for several areas in the state of Wisconsin. Officials urged Wisconsin drivers to stay off the roadways unless it was absolutely necessary. The large snowstorm was expected to hit around 5 p.m. during rush hour traffic.

Drivers who do take to the roads should always be prepared with emergency equipment in their car. This equipment can include: water, food, blankets, and a cellphone charger. These items can save people’s lives in the event of an accident during severe weather.
