The University of Wisconsin football team went to California in December to take part in the Rose Bowl. While in California, an alleged sexual assault occurred between a student who traveled with the team and the senior associate athletic director.
The athletic director has taken full responsibility for the incidents from the night in question, and resigned from his position as soon as the team returned to Madison, Wisconsin. The male student, who chooses to remain anonymous during the investigation, told his boss that the director approached him at a hotel party and put his hand down his pants.
The student says that he slapped the man’s hand away from him and immediately alerted someone else. When the team returned to Madison, university officials were notified of the chain of events and launched an investigation into the allegations. The director resigned from his position on January 6.
