Retired Wisconsin police officer guilty of sexual assault

A retired police officer of the Rhinelander police force has been convicted of sexual assault. A jury of his peers spent 15 hours determining his fate.

The 62-year-old retiree was found guilty of several counts including; third-degree sexual assault, felony bail jumping and intimidation of a victim.

The incident took place in May 2010 when the former police officer was in the victim’s residence. He became angry with her, abused her and then took her into the bedroom where he sexually assaulted her. His bond has been reset at $25,000 cash and the sentencing will take place on January 25, 2012.
