Hunting season in Wisconsin has begun

Posted on Monday, November 21st, 2011 at 12:22 pm

Hunting season has begun in the state of Wisconsin and this means that accidents can occur more frequently. Research that was carried out by Gannett Wisconsin Media shows a link between young, inexperienced hunters and shooting accidents.

Hunting in Wisconsin is deeply rooted in tradition. The research shows that 18 percent of licensed hunters are 21-years-old or younger and are responsible for 27 percent of the shooting-related accidents that have occurred in the last decade. This equates to 337 accidents throughout Wisconsin.

Wisconsin hunting safety is at an all-time low and the state is below the national average for hunting-related accidents.

When these accidents do happen they can be severe or even fatal in some instances. Personal injuries occur all the time and if you were injured because of someone else you deserve to be compensated. Wisconsin deer-car collisions increase

Posted on Monday, November 14th, 2011 at 10:53 am

Mating season for deer is currently underway and that means that deer-car collisions are increasing across Wisconsin.

Last year the fatalities from these animals resulted in 14 deaths which was up from seven deaths the previous year. Deer are in constant motion during mating season and will do whatever it takes to find a doe to mate with. They travel in packs which means you are more likely to come across more than one while driving.

It has been urged that drivers turn off their cruise control while traveling in order to be more aware of their speed and surroundings. These animals were responsible for 16,947 accidents last year.

Emergency kits for cars focus of Winter Awareness Week

Posted on Monday, November 7th, 2011 at 12:14 pm

Wisconsin Emergency Management has deemed this week, November 7-11, as Winter Awareness Week in Wisconsin. This week is focused on winter safety, especially for drivers.

The cold weather brings with it icy roads and terrible driving conditions. Car accidents increase during this weather and it is important for operators of motor vehicles to be ready on the road. Emergency kits should be inside everyone’s cars, according to Wisconsin Emergency Management. These kits can help you survive in a situation where help is not immediately available.

These kits should be filled with necessary items including food, blankets, flashlights as well as a windshield scraper. These items can help the driver and passengers of the car survive if an accident has occurred due to the weather conditions.

When the temperature begins to drop, car accidents begin to rise. If you have been injured in a car accident, please contact the Madison motor vehicle accidents attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier, S.C. by calling 800-242-2874 today.
