FDA Announces Recall of RAW Organic Bars Due to Undeclared Peanut Allergens

A recall has been issued for specific lots of ChocolateyChocoloate Chip RAW Organic Food Bars.

The United States Food and Drug Administration announcedMonday that Organic Food Bar, Inc. has issued a recall of the bars whichcontain undeclared peanut proteins. According to the Food and DrugAdministration, individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity topeanuts could have serious or life-threatening allergic reactions to the barsif consumed.

RAW Organic Food Bar Chocolatey Chocolate Chip isdistributed in the United States and Canada. The recalled bars were shipped in12-pack cartons and sold by retail stores and direct delivery.

According to an FDA release, the company stated: “The firmis investigating if the affected products contained peanut allergen throughcross contamination of raw materials by one of our vendors since at the time wewere a peanut free facility. We have since changed our suspected vendor ofcashew butter and our new vendor has dedicated cashew lines and claims nochance of cross contamination.”
