Four people, including a child, were injured in a Madison car accident Tuesday morning.
According to officials with the Dane County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to a three-vehicle accident on Highway 51 near Tower Road in the town of Dunn shortly after 8:04 a.m. Authorities say 51 year-old Lori Helley was stopped in the northbound lane of U.S. 51 to make a left turn on to Tower Road, when her Chevrolet Malibu was struck from behind by a Nissan Sentra. The force of the impact pushed Helley's vehicle into the southbound lane where it was struck by a Subaru Legacy operated by 62 year-old Donald Slaght.
The driver of the Nissan, 25 year-old Chad Kellison was traveling with an eighteen-month-old child, who was buckled into a child safety seat.
All four people involved in accident were transported to University of Wisconsin Hospital. Kellison, the child, and Slaght all sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Dane County Sheriff's Department.
