42-year old Marlene Wanek of Green Bay went to court last week to face charges of homicide by operating a vehicle and homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Wanek was involved in a pedestrian accident earlier this year resulting in the death of her boyfriend. Investigators believe that at the time of the accident Wanek had a .239 blood alcohol level, was attempting to call the victim and was speeding 18 to 24 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Wanek's boyfriend, Kenneth Brown, was killed in the tragic pedestrian car accident. According to court documents, the couple began arguing before leaving a bar in November. Brown started to walk home and Wanek got into her vehicle and tried to find him on his way back. Wanek struck Brown as he was walking along the road and police found her attempting to resuscitate him.
