A teacher and a student were injured in a recent swimming pool accident at Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Wisconsin. The accident occurred when the two were looking through the swimming pool's underwater viewing window.
The 17-year old student and physical education teacher were injured during a P.E. class after the underwater observation window in the pool shattered and sucked the student through the window and into a mechanical room. The teacher jumped in to try to grab the student and pull him out, but was pulled through the window and into the mechanical room as well. The teacher mostly suffered from cuts and bruises from being pulled across the broken glass window. The student suffered from unspecified injuries and was taken to University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison for treatment.
Investigators are looking into what caused the window to break to determine if anybody should be held liable for the teacher and student's injuries.
