A Menominee Indian School District bus overturned in a ditch this morning after swerving to avoid an oncoming pickup truck. The accident occurred at around 7:50 AM when the bus was traveling southbound on Crow Settlement Road near Wisconsin 47.
The bus was on its way to Kenesha Primary School with around 40 passengers. Menominee Tribal Police Chief Mark Waukau reported that 10 to 12 children suffered injuries in the accident, some even hitting the bus' front windshield. The injured students were taken to Shawano Medical Center to be treated for their injuries.
