Steps to take when your car overheats

Posted on Monday, November 30th, 2009 at 7:32 am

Cars sometimes will overheat for a variety of reasons. For instance, cars often overheat in hot conditions because the car is unable to cool itself. Also, if the car's water coolant is not replenished, it stands a higher chance of overheating.

When a car begins to overheat, drivers and passengers should take a number of steps. First, the driver should pull over the vehicle and stop it on the side of the road. Second, the driver and passengers should exit the vehicle. While the risk of explosion is low, it is a possibility that drivers and passengers should be wary of.

Third, once the car stops overheating, it should be inspected for any defects and then prepared by an expert and experienced mechanic. By taking these steps, drivers and passengers can significantly reduce the risk of injury.

Drivers should be weary of icy driving conditions

Posted on Monday, November 30th, 2009 at 7:24 am

As winter approaches, drivers should expect that some roads will have icy conditions. Drivers should be wary of these roads because of the risk that icy roads pose to drivers.

In some cases, drivers on icy roads will lose control of their vehicles and crash. If this crash results in multiple injuries, then driver may be liable for damages despite the icy conditions.

Drivers can protect themselves against such accidents by avoiding driving as much as possible. However, if driving cannot be avoided, then drivers should slow down and exercise particular caution in icy conditions.

Car crashed into combine on rural highway Tuesday

Posted on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at 5:22 am

A car driving west on a highway in Madison crashed into a combine Tuesday. According to police reports, the car lost control, crossed the median, and drove into a fence.

Many studies suggest that some of the most dangerous car accidents occur on rural highways. These accidents are often more dangerous because of the high speeds at which cars travel on county roads.

The various causes of rollover accidents

Posted on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 7:11 am

Many people each year experience rollover accidents. These accidents are sometimes caused by a driver turning a corner too sharply or hitting another car at high speeds.

However, these accidents can also be attributed to a tire defect. When this occurs, the tire manufacturer may be liable for tire damages and personal injuries.

The rollover may also be caused if the tires are mounted or installed poorly. If you or anyone you know has been involved in a rollover accident, contact the Madison car accident attorneys of Habush Habush & Rottier S.C. ®, at 800-242-2874.

Wisconsin wide receiver involved in car accident

Posted on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 7:02 am

A wide receiver from Wisconsin was arrested for drunken driving Sunday. The receiver was involved in an accident and was taken to a nearby hosptial to be treated for injuries.

Drunken driving leads to a higher chance of accident because alcohol impairs a person's ability to drive. For this reason, people who drive under the influence and are involved in accidents may face both criminal and civil charges.

Death total in highway accidents down this year

Posted on Monday, November 2nd, 2009 at 6:35 am

According to government data, fewer deaths have occurred in Wisconsin highway accidents this year. The data indicates that 441 people have died in such accidents, a 11 percent from the same time last year.

If this trend continues, then the state could have the fewest number of deaths in one year compared to data from the past few decades. Many experts believe that the decrease in highway fatalities is due in part to the weak economy. Because people are likely driving less to save on driving costs, the fewer number of cars on the road has led to fewer accidents.
