Woman driving mo-ped injured in collision

A woman from Grand Rapids was driving her mo-ped down Eighth Street when another car pulled in front of her and crashed into her mo-ped. According to witnesses at the scene of the accident, the woman was weaving through traffic before she was it. 

The woman was injured in the accident and taken to a nearby hospital. According to police reports, the accident is still under investigation and no charges have been filed.

Man dies in two-car collision on I-94

A man from Madison died in a crash on Interstate 94 Saturday night. Kenneth Bell was driving down I-94 in Dane County when his car collided with a sports utility vehicle. 

The SUV driver survived the crash, but sustained minor injuries. According to police reports, drunken driving could have played a part in the crash.

Wisconsin state lawmaker hits bicyclist with car

Rep. Red Clack, a Baraboo Democrat, ran a red light and hit a bicyclist Aug 18. The Wisconsin state lawmaker received an $88 for the accident, which court records from Sept. 1 showed that he paid.

The bicyclist hit in the accident was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for injuries. The representative said he would not comment on the accident or a potential personal injury lawsuit.

Man convicted in rape trial

A man from Fort Atkinson received more than 300 years of prison and supervision after being convicted of rape Thursday. Courtney Cowins raped a woman two and a half years ago.

At that time, Cowins snuck into a woman's apartment while she was asleep and raped her while wearing a mask. Police were able to indentify the rapist using DNA evidence left at the apartment.

Man rescued from bathtub during apartment fire

A man from Madison was trapped in a burning apartment building Thursday morning. Fortunately, he was rescued by firefighters and only sustained minor burn injuries. 

While taking a bath in his apartment, the man realized smoke was coming from the first floor and panicked. While the 20 other residents of the building fled the building, the man remained in his bathtub until firefighters rescued him.

Crash with Bus Kills 1

On Tuesday morning, a crash occurred involving an SUV and a school bus. Around 7:10am, the bus was stopped on the side of a highway in Vernon County when an SUV crashed into the back of it.

There were 9 students on the bus at the time ranging in age from 4 to 15. None of them were injured. The driver of the SUV was killed in the crash. There were no other injuries reported.
