Pedestrian Killed Crossing Street

Early Sunday morning, a Madison man was struck while attempting to cross the street. Around 2:30am, the man was walking across East Washington Ave in the 3500 block when he was struck by a car.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver has been charged with intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. Police are still investigating the crash.

Crash Kills 1, Injures 1

On Sunday evening, a crash occurred near Edgerton. Around 7:30pm, a vehicle was traveling southbound along I-39/90 when it went off the roadway and struck a bridge abutment.

The driver of the car sustained injuries not considered life threatening. He was in stable condition Monday at UW Hospital. The man's passenger was killed in the collision. Police were still investigating as of Tuesday morning.

Motorcycle Crash Kills 2

On Sunday, a motorcycle crash occurred in Montfort. According to police, the motorcycle struck a tractor along Bethel Rd at the intersection with Old Highway 18. The riders were wearing their helmets.

Both people on the motorcycle were killed in the collision. Grant County officials investigated the crash. There were no other injuries reported.

Cyclist Injured in Crash

On Tuesday afternoon, a cyclist was struck by a car near the state Capitol. State Rep Fred Clark was northbound on Hamilton St around 4:30pm when he ran a red light and hit the cyclist on Webster St.

The cyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries not thought to be life threatening. There were no other injuries. Rep Clark was cited for running a red light.

Wii Battery Rechargers Recalled

The Nintendo Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station manufacutered and sold by Psyclone Essentials and React has been voluntarily recalled. About 220,000 units have been recalled.

Units with serial numbers PSE6501 and RT530 are affected by the recall. They have been shown to overheat and cause burns. The products were sold through major retailers.

Crop Duster Crash

Wednesday morning, a crop duster crashed near Evansville. The crash was reported to the Sheriff's Department around 9:45pm. Authorities responded to find the aircraft burning.

The only occupant of the plane at the time of the crash was the pilot. The plane did not catch fire until after the pilot  was able to get out. No injuries were reported. The crash is under investigation.

Crash Injures 4, Kills 1

On Saturday afternoon, a two vehicle crash occurred in the town of Lodi. Just before 5pm, a minivan and a conversion van collided at the intersection of County J and Lindsay Rd.

The driver and passenger in the conversion van were taken to UW Hospital in Madison for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the minivan was killed and two passengers sustained non life threatening injuries.

Man Dies after Tractor Accident

In the Town of Vermont, a tractor accident occurred Tuesday morning. Around 11:10am, a man was cutting grass along a creek bank. His tractor rolled over and caught fire, trapping him underneath.

The man's brother freed him using a jack, and he was air lifted to UW Hospital. Later that night, the man was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident.

Man Arrested for 5th OWI

Early Monday morning, an Oneida man was arrested for his fifth OWI. Around 2am, a police officer was southbound on Fish Hatchery Rd when he saw the man driving in the wrong lane and headed directly into him.

The officer pulled the man over and arrested him for OWI. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of this particular drunk driving incident. However, drunk drivers can often cause terrible accidents that cause serious injuries or death.
