Train crashes across the state have been declining in recent years, but are still very much a problem. In 2005, there were 76 train crashes in Wisconsin, causing 28 injuries and 9 deaths.
In 2007, those numbers dropped to 48 train crashes with 20 injuries and 2 deaths. While this is a significant drop, people are still being injured and killed by trains.
