Fire in Columbus

Posted on Thursday, May 14th, 2009 at 5:07 am

A fire broke out on Monday night at the Columbus Chemical Industries Plant. Instead of risking the lives of firefighters, however, authorities decided to let the building burn. Three days later, it is still on fire and the surrounding area has been evacuated.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze. However, there are hundreds of different kinds of chemicals in the plant which could taint the air quality and make people ill. While this has not yet occurred around the plant, the air inside the plant could be a very different story.
