Pilot Dies in Massachusetts Plane Crash

Posted under Uncategorized

The pilot of a small airplane died shortly after his plane crashed following take-off.

The plane was leaving Hyannis’ Barnstable Municipal Airport for Nantucket when it rolled over and crashed nose first shortly after take-off. The plane got roughly 200 feet into the air.

The pilot was employed by Wiggins. He had been employed since December in a role making twice-a-day cargo runs to Nantucket to deliver UPS and FedEx packages. He was the only person on board.

At the time of the crash, the plane was carrying just over 200 pounds of cargo and had a limit of 3,000 pounds. The airport was temporarily closed following the crash. Federal investigators are expected to go to Hyannis to look into the causes of the plane crash.
