Tree step maker sued after man is injured

The manufacturer and seller of tree steps is being sued when a man is injured by the defective product. Tree steps are most commonly used by hunters. Michael Spann injured his right ankle and left knee when the tree steps that he was using broke.

Ultra Products, Ltd. and the tree steps manufacturer Ameristep, Inc. serve as defendants in the case. Spann is seeking damages in excess of $200,000.

Spann claims that the defendants were negligent and failed to properly test and inspect the steps and failed to give warning of step failure.
