Medical Malpractice lawsuit filed after infection leads to amputation

Posted under Uncategorized

A medical malpractice has been filed against Alan Gitersonke, D.P.M., after a woman had to have her right leg amputated below the knee due to an infection after a bunionectomy.

Shelia Kelly went in for the procedure in order to treat a bunion. According to Kelly, Gitersonke violated his duty as a doctor, failed to properly diagnose her condition, failed to identify her infection and treat it in time, and failed to give proper care. The doctor’s negligence led to her leg amputation.

She is seeking damages in excess of $100,000 for medical expenses, physical pain, mental anguish, and disability.
